At this year’s conference, we will address the latest trends in community inclusion, provide practical information for achieving success from birth through adulthood, and inspire individuals with disabilities,  their families, service providers and educators to become proponents of change in communities across the United States and around the world.

Call for Proposals  - Submission Instructions 

Due: May 1, 2010 ● 5:00 PM Eastern Time - Because TASH is still receiving a strong interest in submitting proposals, we have extended the deadline to May 1, 2010

TASH is accepting proposals for  Panel Discussions, and Poster sessions for its 2009 Annual Conference. 

Proposal Requirements:
1. The proposal title, description, and content must use “people first” language and reflect the values of inclusive communities and quality lives. 
2. Presentations must reflect the participation of individuals with severe disabilities in inclusive contexts (e.g., community living and access; inclusive general education classes) or efforts to transfer the engagement of individuals with severe disabilities to inclusive contexts (e.g., movement from congregate living situations to privately owned homes).
3. Materials must be available, upon request, in alternative formats (e.g., handouts available as computer text files or in large print; captioned videos) to ensure that all participants have access to presentation content.
4. Presenters may be invited to make their handouts and or Power Point presentations available to conference attendees through the TASH website, following the conference.  

TASH encourages proposals that:
  are culturally responsive and reflect cultural and linguistic diversity
  are structured in various ways, including individual, team and panels composed of  a) individuals with disabilities, family members, advocates and professionals; b) presenters with various perspectives on a controversial issue; or (c) presenters with innovative approaches or current research findings that complement each other’s work
  provide policy analysis, describe research findings, or review evidence-based and promising practices
  describe ongoing innovative research and demonstration efforts
