What You and Your Family Need to Know to Self-Direct Services and Funding

 Who
This training is for individuals with disabilities and their families and/or supporters who are interested in self-directing services and learning more about the New Directions Waiver as a vehicle to accomplish that goal. The New Directions Waiver will open for enrollment in July of 2005.

Why
The Waiver is an exciting new initative but you will need to know what it all means to decide if you want to use the Waiver to take control of and self-direct your service plan, your budget, and your support services. This 3 hour workshop will give you all the basic information you need to know, and provide an opportunity for participants to ask questions and share information.

  •  Individualized Budgeting, Support Brokers, and Fiscal Intermediaries

From I-95 take exit #33A (Route 198 East)  towards LAUREL.  Continue on MD-198 EAST then Turn RIGHT on US-1 SOUTH - go 0.1 mi Turn RIGHT on MARSHALL AVE.

From Bay Bridge - Route 50 East Turn Right on MD-331 then Arrive at Arrive at 713 DOVER RD.
From Cambridge -  Route 50 West Turn Left on MD-331 then Arrive at Arrive at 713 DOVER RD.

From I-70, take Exit 32b, (route 40 West) proceed 1 mile. The hotel is located at the corner of Edgewood Drive and Route 40 (dual Highway). From I-81, take exit 6a (route 40 East) proceed 5 miles. Turn left onto Edgewood Drive. The hotel is located on the right at the Intersection.

From Towson via the Beltway (I-695): Take Exit 26 (York Road, South) and go about 3/4 mile to the Towson Roundabout. Exit the Roundabout, continuing on York Road another 1/4 mile to Chesapeake Avenue. Turn left onto Chesapeake Avenue and go to the parking garage behind the library. There is a pedestrian bridge directly from the third floor of the garage to the library.
